Volunteering For The Holidays Helps You Too
I am dedicating this holiday season to volunteering. I don’t know how successful I am going to be but I’m desperate to inject a little life into my holiday season. With COVID-19 shutting down any chance I have of going out and about, I am working hard to figure out how to volunteer for the...

Happy Anniversary, Depression!
Recently, I celebrated my second anniversary with depression. I know it sounds absurd. Depression isn’t some occasion to praise but trust me, it is. In this blog, I will tell you how and why. So tighten your seat belts we are going on a roller coaster ride of past and present emotions.:) Since my childhood,...

Spend Your Holidays With RPSV!
Although 2020 has been an exceptional year, and not necessarily in a good way, the holiday season continues to be a source of insta-joy for most of us. A time when holiday lights, festive music, and love-filled Hallmark movies run from late October through December. It is also a time when memories of happy times...

A Girl With Depression
This girl was like every other person. She was getting used to her new job, interacting, and working like a maniac because she was taking work too seriously. Then one day something started to happen―during her commute home she began crying unexpectedly. For two weeks straight that happened to her, she did not tell anyone....

My Journey through Depression, Unemployment, and Cooking
Unemployed, again. The stress has left me with depression and financial problems. After graduating with my undergraduate and graduate degrees, I spent my time unemployed. Two Professions, One Battle – Depression

Hello everyone. I hope you are dealing with the pandemic just fine. It has been almost six months, and we all have been in our houses either doing work from home or enhancing our personal skills. I have started cooking, a task which I have always disliked. Anyway, I hope and pray that everyone out…

Why Voting Is A Precious Right

…around the country, Americans are standing in lines for up to four hours if not longer to do the same thing I was able to do in just a few moments. It seems wrong. It seems unfortunate. It is our new reality. What I love is that, despite all the obstacles, people are making the effort to vote early despite the discomfort to make sure they are counted! Old people, young people―no demographic is left out. It is a beautiful sight to see!

Family Ties And Wellness
Having family available to support me has been a blessing I’ve tried to never take for granted. Especially during these difficult times with COVID-19, I have found love and comfort in reading daily texts from my mother, talking on the phone with my sister who is a peer specialist, and occasionally enjoying safe visits with...

Our Changing World
I saw a term yesterday I have never seen. It was the word “doomscrolling”.  It means continually reading articles, headlines, and social media posts that contain bad news. I thought it was interesting because it seems like more and more lately, that is all you really hear about. I spent some time pondering what types...
